On October 23, we celebrated the Germplasm Bank Day of the National Institute of Agricultural Research with an unforgettable event held at the Central Amazon Research Station.

We carried out a fascinating tour of the field-maintained collections—true treasures of our agrobiodiversity.

We also witnessed the vitality of crops such as cacao, cassava, bananas, and medicinal plants, among others.

This event and the strengthening of our Germplasm Bank have been made possible thanks to the fund management of IICA Ecuador and the invaluable support of the Crop Trust’s BOLD 1 project.

A special thank-you to everyone who makes this vital work of research and conservation possible!
