IMPORTANCE OF THE PGRFA IN ECUADOR

Plant genetic resources for food and agriculture – PGRFAA constitute the main resource that feeds the world and is made up of thousands of species and their genetic variability that allow their adaptation to extreme weather conditions and therefore adaptation to climate change. The National Institute of Agricultural Research – INIAP is the leading institution in Ecuador on issues of management, conservation and sustainable use of the PGRFA.
