The Gene Bank for food and agriculture germplasm is formed through collection and conservation activities.

GENE BANK IN ECUADOR
This gene bank currently preserves 29,000 accessions of cultivated plants and their wild relatives (of Andean origin and introduced) that are located in six experimental stations of INIAP.
