SECURITY DUPLICATES
As part of the bank’s strategy to ensure and make collections available in perpetuity, security duplicates are required. These duplicates guarantee the availability of a subsample of the accession, which is genetically identical to the original, in gene banks that are geographically distant; to reduce the risk of partial or total loss due to catastrophes of natural or human origin.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Establishment of standardized processes (SOPs), for security duplicates, document that describes the specific activities that must be carried out for duplication.
